Transparency on electromagnetic field exposure in Aurillac

Publié le 4 December 2023

In August 2023, the City of Aurillac initiated an innovative approach by deploying two WAVE-001 sensors from Exem to monitor electromagnetic fields, a proactive response to the debates surrounding 5G technology. These sensors, strategically positioned on Avenue de la République and Rue du Carmel, have delivered reassuring results that remain below regulatory standards.

The robustness of the data collected is based on a rigorous methodology, involving 6-minute averages at different times of the day and night. The results are available in real time, illustrated by measurement curves showing maximum, minimum and average data since the sensors were installed.

At the heart of this initiative is the transparency offered to residents via the www.emf-observatory.com website. The sensors measure a range of radio emissions, including telephone masts, WiFi, FM radio, DTT and other sources.

This move by Aurillac transcends initial concerns by demonstrating a commitment to the safety and well-being of residents. By demonstrating this commitment, the town is also showing an openness to technological innovation. In short, this initiative represents a proactive and transparent response to citizens’ concerns about 5G electromagnetic fields.
